The ubiquitous Chinese elm, Ulmus parvifolia, almost the only species that we are happy to sell as indoor bonsai, although they are fine outdoors as well with Winter protection. They do , however, represent very good value for money! Very good characteristics for bonsai , small leaves, responds exceptionally well to pruning and easy to look after. This is a Chinese imported bonsai. This 24cm high bonsai is potted in a 18x12cm blue glazed ceramic container.

It is quite rare to find Japanese larch , Larix kaempferi, as shohin size bonsai. This example is recently styled from collected raw material. It exhibits some interesting deadwood features as well as a basic branch structure. Just more ramification now needed. The tree is 28cm high    with a trunk diam. at the base of 2 cm. It is in a rectangular plastic pot that measures 20x14x6 cm. It is a nice project bonsai.

Acer griseum or Paper-bark maple is a fairly unusual species to see as bonsai but the flaky bark is really interesting and as this photo shows the autumn colour can be spectacular! This example is 47 cm. high with a trunk measurement at the base of 3 cm.diam. A nice informal upright style with just bit more ramification needed to complete the image. It is planted in a Chinese, glazed round pot that is 19x8 cm. Something that little bit different.

A chuhin size Larix kaempferi, Japanese larch , with a significant amount of styling and development having been accomplished by the previous owner. Great trunk movement on this cascade style bonsai.Plenty of branches all in the right places, ramification starting to appear and the completion of this work will go a long way to creating a nice bonsai. The spread of the tree is 54 cm. and the trunk diam. at the base is 3 cm. One of the easiest species to look after and develop, this larch is potted in a Chinese glazed container 16x16x14 cm. A rare chance to buy this sort of bonsai.
